The incumbent government vice president, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, promised to rebuild the Kantamanto market after Monday’s fire that destroyed several businesses and properties.

“Let’s see how to help. I will call a meeting for Friday in my office with the leaders to see how to rebuild this market and also how we can provide a certain amount of support on a humanitarian basis initially, “he said.

According to him, at least two thousand five hundred and ninety-two individuals have been directly affected by hell, a situation that requires urgent attention.

“So many stores have been razed, it’s a sad situation, people’s livelihoods, their daily livelihoods have been taken away by this fire,” he added.

Addressing the media during his visit, he added that his administration will look at how to provide capital to these merchants so they can restart their businesses.

“There is going to be an investigation into what happened and why it happened and that investigation will continue,” he added.

On Monday night, according to a witness, hell started in a place near the Agbogbloshie market.

Hundreds and thousands of Ghana Cedis have been lost when the fire ripped through many stores, yet the cause of the fire is still unknown.
