The regional chairman of Bono of the New Patriotic Party (PNP), Mr. Kwame Bafo, also known as Abronye, ​​has issued a stern warning to a former government appointee stating that the laws of Ghana should be applied to him with all the necessary force.

Speaking on the Saturday November 22, 2020 edition of the TV show ‘Nsempa Fie’ on Kumasi-based Wuntumi TV, an angry Kwame Bafo revealed that Ghana’s laws are clear about the president’s right to ensure that all citizens of Ghana enjoy the maximum protection under the 1992 constitution of Ghana.

It adds that the former special prosecutor, Mr. Martin Amidu, cannot deny the president’s police protection.

He said that if Martin Amidu insists on declining police protection, they will make sure he takes care of it by sending policemen to his home by force.

“He is telling the whole world that if something happens to him, the president will be held accountable. It is the president’s duty to ensure that all Ghanaian citizens are protected, in accordance with the laws of Ghana. Therefore, we will make sure that work clause of the constitution.

“We will ensure that protection comes by force. IGP, please follow the instructions of the president and give Martin Amidu 24-hour protection. Whether you like it or not, the laws of this country will work.”

“We don’t want a situation where some people will go and attack him, and he will turn to blame the president. That protection will come by force,” Kwame Bafo said.

Mr. Martin Amidu, after his resignation, revealed that his life was in danger and that if something happens to him, he will hold the president responsible.

Shortly after his statement, the president ordered the Inspector General of Police to offer Martin Amidu 24-hour protection.

Since then, Martin Amidu has rejected the offer.
