The Akatsi Police have said they will not forgive any individual or group of wrongdoers whose actions may endanger people’s lives and property.
The Chief Superintendent of Police, Mr. Joseph Atsu Dzineku, the Municipal Commander of Akatsi South warned those who believed that this season would work well to do bad things that would not be successful.
He added that “the Police Service will not waver in its mandate to protect life and property before the New Year.
He said that the Police Administration and Ghanaians in general expected a lot from them and that indiscipline and anarchy would not be tolerated from any angle.
Mr. Dzineku gave the warning in an interaction with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) before some religious activities of all the churches to move into the New Year.
He stressed that, unlike the previous holiday periods, which were characterized by the increase in traffic accidents and crime, the Police had the enormous task of providing a calm, serene and free environment for the festive season and beyond.
Mr. Dzineku also appealed to citizens to help the police carry out their duties effectively.
The GNA also observed the preparations of the churches within Akatsi South to hold their last night vigil service to end the year.
