The Minority in Parliament has promised to boycott the next appearance of the Electoral Commission (EC) before the Chamber.
This comes after police officers stopped them on Tuesday when they embarked on a march to petition the head of EC, Jean Mensa.
Dressed in red and black, the opposition MPs walked as a group to the Commission’s headquarters at Ridge in Accra.
Minority Leader Haruna Idrissu, who read the content of the petition, noted that since the EC ignored her petition, they will also reject her hearing when she appears before Parliament.
“We will boycott the EC that appears in Parliament. We will boycott her and her Commission. We will not be heard, she will never be heard by us, “he said.
He stated that the deputies of the Democratic National Congress (NDC) are still in dispute over the declared results.
This, he said, is due to the fact that there was an absolute lack of transparency in the process of collecting results in the district of Techiman Sur.
“The election results have been changed six times by a shameful president, so the next time she comes to make her correction, we will not accept it.
“We are asking that the Techiman South results be compiled openly in public view,” added the Tamale South deputy.
After his failed attempt, Idrissu demanded that one of the police officers receive the petition on behalf of the EC.
Minority MPs have also said they will boycott President Akufo-Addo’s inauguration for a second term if parliamentary results are not collected again at Techiman South.
Iddirisu told Joy News that PNP’s Martin Agyei Mensah Korsah, who was declared the winner, did not deserve the seat since the NDC candidate won.
