The Zongo Council of Techiman Chiefs says that contrary to claims that the New Patriotic Party (PNP) is anti-Zongos, the Akufo-Addo government has rather demonstrated its commitment to the welfare and development of Zongos.
At a large durbar in Techiman on Thursday, attended by several Techiman Zongo chiefs and imams, the Zongo community said they are grateful to the Akufo-Addo-led government.
“A lot of people in Zongos were afraid of the NPP because they kept telling us that the NPP is anti-Zongo and that they will fire the people of Zongos if we vote for them,” said Fuseini Awudu, head of Techiman de Mossi on behalf of Zongo. Bosses.
“But Allah made it possible for Nana Akufo-Addo to be elected President and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to become Vice President. The facts have shown that it is better for this to happen ”, he added.
“First of all, we would like to thank President Nana Akufo-Addo and Vice President Bawumia.”

Zongo bosses noted that many people in the Zongos are proud of Vice President Bawumia for his contribution to the governance of the country, as well as his commitment to the development of the people of Zongo.

“Many Zongos are determined to support you for what you have been doing for the country and for Zongos.
Techiman Zongo bosses assured Dr. Bawumia of their unwavering support for the December 7 elections.

Vice President Bawumia thanked Techiman Zongo chiefs and many other chiefs and imams from other Zongo communities for their support and prayers.
He reiterated President Akufo-Addo’s commitment to the development of Zongos with education and infrastructure development as key areas of interest to the government.
Dr. Bawumia stated that there have been many interventions by the Akufo-Addo government in many Zongo communities, such as the construction and provision of classrooms, drainage systems, access roads, ICT centers, toilets, water systems, Astro lawns. and the sending of 40 students to Cuba. study medicine with a government scholarship.
“For the first time in Ghana’s history, the development of Zongo is a focus in our national budget and only the government of President Akufo-Addo has done so,” said Vice President Dr. Bawumia.
