Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia says that the development of the Upper East, Northeast, North, Sabana and Upper West regions is fundamental to the government of the New Patriotic Party (PNP).

“We want the development of this country, we want the development of the North, we have lagged behind for a long time, and that is why we want to make transformative policies to lift our people out of poverty.”

The Vice President is on a three-day tour of the Region to collect votes in the presidential and parliamentary elections on December 7.

Dr. Bawumia said that the government of President Akufo-Addo had shown in the last four years that it was against policies that will lift the country and the North out of poverty as a whole. years.

“We have seen them in ‘Plant food and jobs’, A village, a dam, ‘A constituency, an ambulance’, the Nation Builders Corps, ‘A district, a factory’, all the projects that we are implementing including; the Zongo Development Fund, teacher reinstatement and nursing training assignments and all of that. “

He said Free Senior High School’s flagship policy was not exempt, adding, “These are all concrete policies that are impacting the well-being of our people. The almighty multipurpose Pwalugu Dam, the biggest investment in northern Ghana since independence began. “

According to Dr. Bawumia, roads were being built throughout the region, including the Bolgatanga-Bawku-Pulmakum stretch of road, Bolga-Naaga, Bolga-Nyariga-Sirigu was also under construction.

“We care about development, and if you look at what we have done in the last four years, both in the Upper East region and in Ghana, you will know that we have done more for the development of our people than the NDC did in eight. years, ”Dr. Bawumia said.

The vice president highlighted that “we have done more in four years than they in eight years, we can specifically point out projects that we have done in the Alto Oriente Region, 1,488 projects throughout the Region. We can point them out.

Naba Atogumbey III, in his welcoming speech, praised the government for its policies and programs for Ghanaians that had relieved most of the people of some financial burdens.

Naba Atogumbey called on the government to fix the drainage system in the Sirigu community market, especially in the rainy season, which represents a danger to the health of the people, and said that the Sirigu market was built at random without any design for road networks.

He also called on the government to turn the area into a District, saying the community had the human resources and infrastructure necessary to turn the area into a District, and assured Dr. Bawumia of his support as a community.
