Ho West MP Emmanuel Kwesi Bedzrah has described the death of former President Jerry John Rawlings as a great loss.
Bedzrah, who expressed shock at the sudden disappearance of his former boss, said that Rawlings was a great person who has shown great leadership skills throughout his life.
“We cannot put any cost to this loss. Some may not like the way he does things, but he is certainly a man who, when you approach him, you will like him, ”Kojo Yankson told JoyNews.
The former president passed away on Thursday morning around 10:10 am.
Mr. Rawlings died at Korle-Bu University Hospital, where he was receiving treatment, after a brief illness.
The founder of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) was last seen in public on October 19, during the final funeral rites that led to the burial of his mother, Victoria Agbotui.
The former military leader was born Jerry Rawlings John on June 22, 1947. He ruled the country from 1981 to 2001 and also for a brief period in 1979.
He led a military junta until 1992, then served two terms as the democratically elected president of Ghana.
