The Secretary General of the Democratic National Congress, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has asked Ghanaians to consider a vote against the Akufo-Addo government in the December elections as “communal work”.
According to him, Ghanaians can no longer live under the rule of “relatives and friends” of the Akufo-Addo administration.
Addressing supporters of the NDC after a march in Accra on Monday, Mr. Nketia said the president has put the interest of his family before the national interest.
“This president has only enriched his family since he took office. The only people who get wealth are people with Kyebi names and people with names like Ofori Atta, Otchere Darko, and Addo Danquah. This nepotism cannot be allowed to continue. Some Ghanaians are now changing their names just to secure jobs, the problem is not our names, it is with bad leadership and Akufo-Addo must go. Voting for them is a community job and we must fulfill it, ”he said.
The NDC embarked on the March for Probity and Responsibility together with other political parties and civil society organizations (CSOs) in honor of the memory and legacy of the founder of the NDC and the 4th Republic of Ghana, Flt. Lieutenant Jerry John Rawlings ”.
The party believes that it is imperative to rally Ghanaians to uphold and uphold the principles of probity and responsibility enshrined in the 1992 Ghana Constitution, particularly at this time when corruption and nepotism have reached unprecedented levels in the country.
