The general director of the State Transportation Company (STC), Nana Akomea, is urging the youth of Ghana to vote en masse for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming elections on December 7, as the party is everything to youth.
According to him, the PNP is the only party in the Fourth Republic that cares about the interests of the youth.
For him, the party, with youth in mind, has introduced various youth-focused interventions, including the National Youth and Employment Agency and NABCO to create more opportunities for Ghana’s youth.
Speaking at the PNP’s weekly press conference in Accra on Monday, October 26, 2020, Nana Akomea, the party’s former Communications Director, said that the party will introduce more youth-focused interventions in its next government, and thus admonish to the youth of Ghana. vote to keep the party in power.
He said that a problem facing the youth that the nuclear power plant government intends to address is the issue of rent.
According to him, to address the rental problems in the country, the nuclear power plant government will introduce the National Rental Assistance Scheme, to provide low-interest loans to eligible Ghanaian youth only to allow them to pay rent for accommodation.
Nana Akomea said that under the scheme, the young beneficiaries will repay the loans on a monthly basis, explaining that the government “will establish a seed capital of GH ¢ 100 million, which would also serve as a leverage to attract additional investment from the private sector. sector.”
According to him, the National Rental Assistance Scheme “will target Ghanaian youth in formal and informal sectors, with identifiable or regular income.”
For him, the rent advances would be paid directly into the bank accounts of the beneficial owners.
Referring to employment, Nana Akomea said that the next NPP government will redouble its steps to create more jobs for young people, noting that the party between 2017 and 2019 has created more than two million direct and indirect jobs for the youth of Ghana.
He explained that 778,000 of the jobs are in the public sector, 268,000 in the formal private sector and 1,000,000 in government job creation programs, including the Nation Builders Corps (NABCO).
He said the party will also intensify its One District One Factory initiative to create more jobs in the various districts of the country.
“The youth of Ghana should be particularly excited about the massive and sustained industrialization program that is taking place in this country, the very famous 1D1F,” said Nana Akomea, adding: “This particular program, in the next four years should result in a factory / manufacturing facility in every district in our country. “
He added that “these factories will generate tens of thousands of direct jobs for you young people,” and said that “this is a reality that will be fulfilled in the next four (4) years in the PNP government.”
On the subject of digitization, Nana Akomea said that “the nuclear power plant is the digital part” and that the government of the nuclear power plant is the digital government.
He pointed out that the administration of the nuclear power plant has digitized the processes for applying for permits and licenses for the operation of buildings, public sector acquisitions, courts, vehicle insurance database, electricity purchase and online tax filing, among others. .
He said that the digitization of Ghana’s economy was aimed at eliminating human contacts, as well as fast-track processes for doing business in the country.
