Confirmed cases of coronavirus in the Volta region have increased to 30, with 21 from Ketu South, which is now the epicenter of the region.

About 15 of the 21 cases were due to the search for contacts of the six illegal aliens who were in mandatory quarantine.

Again, 15 of the 21 Ketu South cases are foreign, while six are Ghanaian.

The remaining nine include, a case of Kpando. Three cases are the result of contact tracing for two cases in Hohoe and one as a result of contact tracing from the Ho case.

The last one is routine surveillance.

The region will conduct massive tests at hot spots, particularly Aflao and communities along Ghana’s eastern borders with Togo in the Ketu Sur Municipality.

According to the figures, Ketu South contributes around 70% of the cases in the region.

Volta’s Regional Public Health Emergency Management Committee, chaired by Regional Minister Dr. Archibald Letsa, released this in a statement released Friday night.

According to the statement, the region, after an intense meeting, decided to announce to the public ahead of the Ghana Health Service update on its website to avoid fear and panic in the region. He assured residents to remain calm and strictly adhere to health guidelines.
