Vivo Energy Ghana, the Shell licensee, in association with its retailers, has installed three water storage tanks and hand washing facilities in the central market of Koforidua and in the truck parks to ensure the regular supply of water for the handwashing towards the fight against Covid-19 in the eastern region.
The initiative is part of Vivo Energy Ghana’s Retail Sustainability Program, launched to support the fight against Covid-19 in various retail communities.
Other items donated to the central market and truck parks included boxes of hand-washing soaps, tissue paper, nasal masks, hand sanitizers, and a four-foot hand washing facility to encourage regular hand washing in these densely populated areas.
The team also donated infrared temperature guns to the New Juabeng Municipal Assembly.
The Retail Sustainability Program is part of Vivo Energy Ghana’s comprehensive Covid-19 prevention program that is implemented to complement government efforts to fight the Ghana virus and ensure decentralization of support to local communities.
The Honorable Chief Executive Officer of the New South Assembly in Juaben, Mr. Isaac Appaw-Gyasi, who cut the ribbon to inaugurate the facilities, expressed his appreciation to Vivo Energy Ghana and its retailers for the timely intervention in the markets and parks of trucks to fight the crown. For his part, the Eastern Regional President of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU), Mr. Johnson Kyereh, praised Vivo Energy for the kind gesture and asked its members to continue to sponsor the fuels and oils of Shell’s quality engine to support the company’s initiative. .
Commenting on the program, the Managing Director of Vivo Energy Ghana, Mr. Ben Hassan Ouattara, reiterated the company’s commitment to supporting the government’s efforts against the virus to finally bring life back to normal.

Since the launch of the Retail Sustainability Program, various government institutions have benefited from it.
They include the National Commission for Civic Education and the Effiankwanta Regional Hospital in the Western Region, the Tamale Teaching Hospital in the Northern Region, the Kenyasi Health Center and the Ahinsan Camp Prison in the Ashanti Region.
