Sports Ministry excludes spectators from all sporting events after COVID-19 spike
The Ministry of Youth and Sports (MOYS) has ordered that all sporting events be held behind closed doors following a recent increase in COVID-19 cases in the country.
The decision was announced by MOYS communication consultant, Ahmed Osman Halid today at a press conference in Accra.

Halid said that the decision that will affect the Ghana Premier League is in line with the recent COVID-19 protocol of the African Football Confederation to organize football matches without spectators.
“In accordance with the CAF directive to organize football matches behind closed doors, without spectators amid the peak of COVID-19 worldwide, the Ministry of Youth and Sports orders that all sporting events, including the matches of the Premier League, be organized behind closed doors and without spectators, “he said.
“All teams must also guarantee the testing of their team members as required for matches, no team without COVID-19 testing authorization will not be allowed to enter any of our sports facilities for training or for matches.
