Fede Valverde missed training on Tuesday after being hit in Real Madrid’s game against Celta de Vigo last weekend. Both he and Kroos appear to miss Eibar on April 6.
There have been more injury concerns for Real Madrid with Fede Valverde absent from training on Tuesday night.
The news of the Uruguayan’s absence comes after that of Toni Kroos, who left Germany’s training camp early due to an adductor injury and will undergo tests at the Valdebebas facility in Madrid on Wednesday to determine the extent of injury. Although it is believed that it is not serious.
Valverde suffered a blow to his right leg in the match against Celta last weekend and according to WHAT club sources, the injury will leave him out for about two weeks. That means he will miss Madrid’s next game against Eibar on April 3. The medical team will work with the Uruguayan to see if he can return in time for the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final against Liverpool three days later, on April 6. “He’s going to cut it very close, but the boy is going to try.” those sources told AS.
These latest setbacks by Kroos and Valverde are the latest in what has been an injury-plagued season for Madrid. Against Celta at the weekend, Zinedine Zidane proved his ideal midfield lineup (Casemiro-Kroos-Modric-Valverde) with the upcoming games against Liverpool and Barcelona in mind. And with Kroos and Valverde now injured, the French coach will pray a lot for Casemiro and Luka Modric to avoid any injury setbacks in the next two weeks.
Hazard and Carvajal continue to recover
Also absent from Tuesday’s session, Dani Carvajal and Eden Hazard continued their respective recoveries inside the facilities.
Carvajal works with the aim of being at Zidane’s disposal again after the international break. Despite the large number of muscle problems he has suffered this season, there is not much room for optimism and the coaching and medical staff will continue with its conservative policy with the Spanish full-back. The same can be said for Hazard, who is almost certainly ruled for the two games against Liverpool on April 6 and 14. as well as the Barcelona clash sandwiched between April 10.
The rest of the first team squad trained normally at the Valdebebas training camp in Madrid under the direction of Zidane. They were joined by several juveniles in absentia of seven players who have joined their respective national teams for the international break.
Players who have not been released in international service will enjoy a very welcome break before two decisive weeks in the fight for the titles. with the Eibar game in ten days followed by Liverpool, Barcelona and Liverpool again.
