Communications specialist from the Ministry of Business Development (MoDB), Kofi Twum Boafo, has praised President Akufo-Addo for achieving a good number of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

He says that the excellent performance of the president in his first term is clearly evident in the lives of the citizens.

Giving a breakdown of the SDGs achieved by President Akufo-Addo in ‘The Dailogue’ on Net2 TV, Kofi Twum Boafo said that under SDG 2 (No Hunger), Ghana has responded with Planting for Food and Jobs; for SDG 3, good health and well-being, Ghana has NHIS; SDG 4 on quality education, Ghana has free SHS; SDG 6 on drinking water and sanitation, Ghana has free water; and SDG 7, Clean and Affordable Energy, Ghana responds with Free Electricity.

He added that under SDG 8, Decent Work and Economic Growth, Ghana has NABCO; and on SDG 9, which deals with industry, innovation and infrastructure, Ghana has 1D1F; While on SDG 10, which deals with reducing inequality, Ghana has government support for people with disabilities.

Kofi Twum Boafo said that under the leadership of President Akufo-Addo, Ghana has obtained higher global ratings in terms of development and economy.

He said that the global recognition of Ghana’s status as one of the fastest growing economies in the world attests to that.

“The Ambassador of Norway said at the launch of the ‘For Better Business Together’ (4BBT) program that Ghana, as we stand, is the 10th fastest growing economy in the world.

“I was glad that this did not come from the NPP and this shows the determination, focus and intellect of President Akufo-Addo. The rating is unprecedented in Ghana’s history since independence. It is impressive and we are all benefiting from it.

“The president is also paying subsidies for teachers in training as part of the educational plan to improve the educational agenda established by the goals of the SDGs.

He is doing other things like building roads from rural to urban centers, providing safe health services by paying money to health workers, which are part of the SDGs, ”said Kofi Twum Boafo.

Referring to the president’s contribution to youth development, Mr. Twum Boafo said that the president since taking office has made bold decisions that are designed to build a future that will benefit generations to come.

“Under the Ministry of Business Development led by the Hon, Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Awal, the government has created more than 45,000 direct jobs to improve the business ecosystem in Ghana. An amazing scheme, which is probative, “he said.

He described President Akufo-Addo as an epitome of a ‘generational thinker’ who thinks about the future of youth and their well-being when older generations no longer exist.

Therefore, Twum Boafo urged Ghanaians to rely on all the good things they have seen to retain Akufo-Addo for another four years and lead Ghana to the promised land.

“The things that we are saying that the president has done are clearly evident. More than a million students have had the opportunity to go to school in their first trimester, which is less than four years. So is there a reason why we should change it? The answer is No. We are very close to the promised land so let’s give Akufo-Addo another four years to take us there, ”he reiterated.
