Two people on a motorcycle have died in a collision with a Hyundai H100 vehicle on the Koforidua to Mamfe highway in the Eastern Region.
The bodies of the deceased, Amos Aglago, 35, and Samuel Opare, 34, have been deposited in the morgue.
Judge Boateng, the driver in charge of the Hyundai H100 with registration number GE 6451-15 with five passengers on board, told police that he was driving from Koforidua to Mamfe around 7:00 pm.
However, upon reaching the stretch of road at the Mampong Nkwata junction, three people on motorcycles veered out of their lane and collided head-on with their vehicle.
The impact, he said, forced the vehicle into a ditch.
The motorcyclist and passengers suffered serious injuries and were taken to the Eastern Regional Hospital, but Amos Aglago and Samuel Opare were declared dead upon arrival.
The third victim, Kwadwo Akoto, 34, is still entering treatment.
Since then, the driver of the vehicle has been treated and released.
