The Kasoa Police Divisional Command arrested two teenagers in connection with the murder of a 10-year-old boy in what appears to be a ritual murder.
Reports available on GhanaWeb indicate that police received a distress call on Saturday around 10:15 am about a homicide incident at Coca-Cola near Lamptey Mills, a suburb of Kasoa in the Central Region.
According to preliminary police investigations, the victim identified as Ishmael was killed by 16-year-old Felix Nyarko and 17-year-old Nicholas Kini.
The suspected teens are reported to have invited the deceased into an unfinished building where they beat him with a club and concrete blocks, killing him around 9:30 a.m. the same morning.
Police sources say the children then buried the deceased in the unfinished building in hopes of returning for his body at night for a ritual purpose.
However, some neighbors found out about their actions and raised the alarm that led to the arrest of the two.
Since then, the body of the deceased has been deposited in the Police Hospital pending the autopsy while the suspects have been detained.
Some reports claim that a fetish priest told the suspects to bring human parts for money rituals, hence their actions.
The victim’s mother, Hajia Maame, spoke to Citi News and expressed her shock at the death of her son.
