Two people who allegedly attacked and robbed a boutique in Dansoman in Accra have been detained in prison by an Accra circuit court.
Shamsu Alhassan and Mumuni Iddirsu, accused of conspiracy to commit crimes and theft, have pleaded not guilty.
The Court, presided over by Mr. Emmanuel Essandoh, postponed the matter until September 14.
The court rejected attempts by defense attorney Yaw Dankwah to obtain bail.
The prosecution’s chief inspector, Simon Terkpetey, narrated that the plaintiff was a sales staff at the House of Kings Boutique in Dansoman.
Alhassan was a merchant and Iddrisu, a horseman from Okada. On July 30 of this year, around 2:30 p.m., the defendants gathered at a drinking place on the Zamarama Line and agreed to go on a mugging spree following a successful motorcycle theft in New Achimota a few years ago. days.
The prosecution said that on the same day, at approximately 5:25 p.m., the accused persons aboard an unregistered Royal Motor Bike went to the Boutique House of Kings in Dansoman.
The prosecution said that Alhassan entered the boutique while Idrrisu was sitting on the motorcycle monitoring the situation.
According to the prosecution, Alhassan, upon entering, threatened the author that he would shoot him if he made any noise.
Alhassan, the prosecution said, took the plaintiff to the counter and demanded the day’s sales.
The prosecution said that Alhassan pulled the drawers but found no money and then took a laptop valued at GH ¢ 1,800 and an Infinix smartphone valued at GH ¢ 680.00 that was on the counter.
Then Alhassan put it in a black polybag and rode with Iddrisu on a motorcycle.
However, the actions of the defendants were captured with a closed circuit television camera. On August 2 of this year, Alhassan was arrested in a robbery at the Demens pharmacy, Dansoman.
The prosecution said that during the investigation, Alhassan named his accomplice as Iddrisu, whom he had implicated in several robberies within the metropolis of Accra.
Iddrisu was arrested at his hiding place and during questioning, he confessed to going on a robbery expedition with Alhassan on only one occasion in New Achimota, a robbery that was successful. The prosecution said the investigation was ongoing.
