Doubts about Thomas Tuchel’s continuity at Paris Saint-Germain continue to grow, and the German manager’s future becomes less clear as the team’s results deteriorate.
The defeat to Manchester United and RB Leipzig in the Champions League has done real damage to Tuchel’s position in the Parc des Princes, despite the coach leading the team to the final of the Champions League the last season.
According to L’Equipe on Friday, there is a question mark about Tuchel’s future with the Parisian club, although the final decision will come from Nasser Al-Khelaifi and Emir Al-Thani.
Leonardo is the current sporting director at the Parc des Princes and is known to be someone who would support Tuchel’s departure, although it is unclear how much influence he would have over such a decision.
“I am not afraid for my position,” Tuchel explained at his post-match press conference.
“I have no problem with the club. We played against a team that was leading the Bundesliga.”
The 2020/21 season has seen PSG have their worst start to the Champions League since Qatar Sports Investments bought the club in 2011. You have to go back to 2004/05 to find a worse start for the French champions.
