The Brazilian forward came out within 25 minutes of PSG’s 2-0 win over Turkish champion Istanbul Basaksehir and will likely miss his team’s next three games.
“I don’t think it’s possible for me to play” for the national team, Tuchel said.
“If he plays, it means he is not injured, and that is a bad message. The news for me is that he will return after the break.”
Neymar has been called up for his country’s team for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Venezuela and Uruguay on November 14 and 17. He scored a hat-trick in a 4-2 win over Peru earlier this month.
He will miss Saturday’s trip to Nantes in Ligue 1, the Champions League clash with RB Leipzig next week and the visit of third-placed Rennes on 7 November.
PSG will go to Monaco on November 20 after the international break.
“With Ney, we are sad because he has a small injury to the adductor,” said Tuchel, who no longer has several key players.
Mauro Icardi, Julian Draxler and Leandro Paredes are not available for the game against Nantes, while Angel Di Maria remains suspended.
Tuchel is hopeful that Icardi and Paredes can return on Wednesday for the RB Leipzig match.
“I really hope they are with us in training on Monday. We have to accept that they can play with just one session before,” he said.
“Normally I would say that they are not prepared for the Champions League, but in this situation they may have to play.”
