Chelsea to start contract negotiations with Antonio Rudiger
According to Daily mailChelsea want to start contract talks with Antonio Rudiger before Euro 2020. There has been too much uncertainty about the German’s future as he would enter the final year of his contract next season.
Antonio Rudiger had slipped to the sidelines under Frank Lampard. However, as soon as Thomas Tuchel took over, he became one of the first names on the team sheet. He has started 8 of the 12 games under Tuchel, keeping a clean sheet in each of them.
Even after his resurgence this season, questions remain about his future. The Blues could lose the former Roma player for nothing next season if no deal is reached soon. Chelsea wanted to extend his contract last summer, as talks to put him on loan were on the agenda.
However, it was left behind and plans for the new deal were delayed. Now, it has been said that there were plans to extend his contract, but only after the European Championship in the summer. However, the club is likely to prefer those plans.
