Adama Traore has been linked to a return to Barcelona in the past, but has insisted that he is only focused on improving his game at Wolves.
Wolves winger Adama Traoré has insisted he is not thinking of a possible return to former club Barcelona despite having regular conversations about the club with Camp Nou prodigy Ansu Fati.
Traoré emerged in the famous ranks of the Barça academy but he failed to make it to first team qualifying and is now excelling at Molineux after going through Aston Villa and Middlesbrough.
The 24-year-old continued his rise by winning his first international game with Spain in Wednesday’s draw with Portugal, earning praise from manager Luis Enrique after the friendly.
He has been linked to a comeback to Barcelona in the past but, although he still has close ties to the club, the speedy wide open man is only focused on improving his game at Wolves.
Traoré: “It is not my decision if I would adapt to Barcelona”
“It is not my decision if I would adapt to Barcelona. My mentality is to work every day to be better“Traoré said at a press conference ahead of Saturday’s Nations League clash with Switzerland.
Asked about his close friendship with Fati, who set another record last month by becoming the youngest scorer in Spanish history, Traoré revealed that no issue is off-limits between the pair.
“We talk about everything,” he said. “Even some more general topics because I’ve been in the club for many years and so is he.
“We met at the academy and we talked about things to do with the team, about the things we went through together in Barcelona. We know each other well.”
Luis Enrique spoke of Traoré’s incredible physique behind the goalless draw in LisbonBut the Wolves man has reiterated that weight lifting is not part of his training program.
“I don’t do weights because my genetics make me gain a lot of muscle“, He said.” I only work to be in the best conditions. “
