The youth of La and the Traditional Council of La have expressed their deep appreciation to the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, for the delivery of the stools that were previously taken by the Army and some government officials.

Mr. Oscar Nii Odoi Glover, president of the Coalition of Associations La (COLA), in a letter sent to the president, thanked him for granting the petition that was sent to him for the cession of land.

He claimed that for more than 60 years we were not granted any stool land in the East Airport (Kpletso) area bordering Tse-Addo, the Laboma Beach Resort, the Bush Road Goil gas station area, the dairy farms of Amrahia and the lands of Adenta Aviation.

“It should also be noted that such lands are reserved by law for military, aviation and dairy farming purposes under mandatory acquisitions. However, changes in city and territory planning and the increasing demand for housing land require that such land is fully utilized as soon as possible, ”he added.

Mr. Glover pointed out that the Coalition of Associations of La (COLA), after the change of government in 2017, asked the government of President Akufo Addo to hand over our lands to which the latter accepted.

“Today the Coalition is pleased that the President has ordered that parts of said lands be returned to the stool to ensure that the most valuable resources of our time are available to improve the lot of the youth of the La community at large,” he added.

Glover expressed his unwavering loyalty and support to the Presidency to collectively combat land grabbing by the Army and some government officials to the point of paralyzing it.

“May God bless you, Ministers of Lands and Natural Resources, Minister of Defense, La and La mei. Also not fail to constantly put the Ghana Army in prayers for a change of mind towards the success of La, ”he said.
