Tottenham star Harry Kane admitted that he is delighted to have propelled his team to the top of the Premier League table. The English international scored the only goal of the game against West Brom on Sunday. And it means the Spurs now sit on top after eight games played.
Tottenham scored late through Kane to fire West Brom, with a late header from the English international that gave Jose Mourinho’s team all three points.
It was a great victory for Spurs, who have now overtaken Southampton to reach the top of the Premier League table.
Tottenham have won five of their eight league games so far and will remain on top unless Liverpool beat Manchester City later on Sunday.
And, speaking after the game, Kane admitted that he was delighted to have shot his side to the top of the table.
“They always feel better when you win the game,” said the forward.
“It was a great battle. The second half we played much better than the first. It was just about making that big breakthrough and luckily I hit a little header to hit 150.

“As the game opened, we created more opportunities.
“They blocked a couple of the line, the goalkeeper made some good saves. We had to keep persisting.
“When you hit one with a few minutes to go, it’s just about defending your advantage and we did it.
“In the last few games, you’ve seen us dig deep. These are the points you could remember in March, April that were huge, so we have to move on.
“We would have taken being the best in the league at this stage at the beginning of the season, but we know there are a lot of big games to come. So far, everything is going well.”
Speaking before the game, Kane had backed Tottenham to win the title, insisting that they had what it took to lift the award next year.
“When you look at the capabilities of our team, you would definitely say we have enough to win a title,” said the England captain.
“But I would also say that we have been close for the last four or five years and we have not crossed the line.
“So it’s not as easy as having a good team and winning a few games to fight for the title.
But this is a season where I don’t think a team can get away with it like Liverpool last year.

“There will be opportunities for other teams to do good races together and move up the table.
“We have to make sure we don’t get carried away either.
“We know that we have been playing well, and the last two games have been good for confidence, for achieving results and obtaining unpleasant victories. That is what we are going to need.
“Points have still been lost from winning positions. But so far everything is fine. If we can win the weekend, we will be at the top of the table heading into the international break. We would have taken it before the start of the season. “
Tottenham is next in action against Manchester City after the international break on 21 November (5.30pm).
