The top three players from Bayern Munich’s win over Borussia Dortmund.

A massive win over Borussia Dortmund away from home allows Bayern Munich to claim first place in the Bundesliga before the international break in November. For the second time this season Die Roten defeated their rivals by a final score of 3-2. In September, Bayern beat Dortmund by the same score in the DFL Super Cup.

There were three different Bayern scorers as the match turned out to be a back and forth encounter. Dortmund had taken the lead late in the first half, but Bayern managed to tie it in first-half injury time from David Alaba.

Bayern went on to take the lead through Robert Lewandowski in the 48th minute. Leroy Sane produced a much-needed safe goal later in the second half that proved decisive as Dortmund approached one in the 83rd minute with a goal by Erling Braut-Haaland.

Here are the top three artists from another edition of Der Klassiker.

Robert Lewandowski

The Bayern forward was instrumental in helping his club win all three points against Dortmund. Lewandowski could have scored more than one goal, but two offside plays ruled out two goals. He has now scored seven goals against Dortmund in his last five Bundesliga appearances against his former club.

Lewandowski not only scored, but also posted key assist. He recorded the assist to win the match with a punch from Sane that turned out to be the difference in this match. This brought his total assists in the Bundesliga to four. So far, he has 11 goals and four assists in six Bundesliga appearances.

Leroy Sane

Sane turned out to be the super substitute in this edition of Der Klassiker. The German winger scored the winning goal and made an impact coming in in the 68th minute. It was Sane’s second goal of the week when he came in against RB Salzburg on Tuesday to score an important goal.

Bayern’s summer signing has two goals and two assists in four Bundesliga games so far this season. He continues to show that the club made the right decision by bringing him to the club.

Lucas Hernandez

The Bayern left-back followed up his great performance against Red Bull Salzburg with another good performance. Hernandez assisted Lewandowski’s goal by providing a fantastic cross. The Frenchman was about to score a goal in the first minute of the game with another great cross to the penalty area. Defensively, Hernández was one of Bayern’s leaders. He recorded three tackles, two interceptions and three punts. Hernández continues to impress as a left back.
