Real Madrid will face Cádiz on Saturday night at the Alfredo Di Stefano Stadium. This is what we expect.
After the international break in October, Real Madrid will face Cádiz on Saturday night in their second home game of the 2020-2021 season. Cádiz are a newly promoted La Liga team and should not be taken lightly. They recently tied Granada and defeated Athletic Club.
That said, the Madridistas have every reason to expect their team to score all three points at the Alfredo Di Stefano Stadium. Here are three things to look forward to when Real Madrid take the field again.
Martin Odegaard getting minutes for Real Madrid
Martin Odegaard started the season’s first two games for Real Madrid, although his second start against Real Betis didn’t feel like one after he was taken out at halftime with Isco. The Norwegian international played decently well against Real Sociedad, was invisible at Betis and recorded just a couple of minutes against Levante before the international break as a substitute.
Zinedine Zidane personally called Odegaard to return to Los Blancos for the 2020-2021 season, as he was initially scheduled for another season on loan at the Anoeta Stadium.
He expects Odegaard to get more minutes against Cádiz on Saturday after impressing Romania in the international break, setting up potential future Madrid player Erling Haaland with two assists.
Real Madrid get another goal from Karim Benzema
Karim Benzema, fundamentally inescapable, is in line for another outing against Cádiz after resting more during the international break. The legendary Real Madrid player finally scored his first goal of the season against Levante, grabbing a late goal to seal the match after a good cut to set up a smooth shot.
Benzema’s start to the season has been analyzed, but there is no reason to be overly critical, even if we can acknowledge that his completion has been below his standard. Because even when he couldn’t score a goal against Real Betis, he made so much happen with the ball with his dribbling ability and pace of work.
Will Benzema start again with Luka Jovic on Saturday? I’m not sure, but I’m confident that he will score his second goal of the season. The late goal at Levante may have been a sign of things to come for No. 9.
Toni Kroos returns from injury for Real Madrid
There is no guarantee that we will see Toni Kroos in midfield, because it is difficult to predict Zinedine Zidane’s starting lineup against La Liga competition that is not in the top flight.
Still, it looks like we should see the German international back in the lineup after he returned to face Ukraine in the UEFA Nations League. Kroos completed more than 90 percent of his passes again, according to WhoScored.com, adding three key passes in the valiant victory. But he made a couple of bad decisions and was not at his best after the injury.

By Saturday, Kroos should be almost 100 percent and ready to control another game in midfield. His consistency and technical quality at Real Madrid never cease to amaze us. Any opportunity to see him play is one that the Madridistas will be happy to seize.
