Former President John Dramani Mahama
John Dramani Mahama, standard-bearer of the Democratic National Congress has been told not to be inspired by Joe Biden’s victory in the United States of America elections.
The Concerned Voters Movement has told the former president to focus on his campaign rather than trying to make non-existent connections between the Ghanaian and US elections.
In a statement signed by its president, Razak Kojo Opoku, the CVM said that the dynamics of the two elections make it impossible for the largest opposition party to be inspired by Joe Biden’s defeat over Trump.
He highlighted a number of issues that distinguish Ghana’s elections from those of the United States.
Among the observations made by the group are the difference in the duration of the practice of democracy by the two countries, as well as the “contrasting” backgrounds of Biden and Mahama.
While the democratic administration of the United States has spanned more than two centuries, the current democratic system in Ghana began in 1992.
The CVM also said that while Biden’s record as Obama’s veep is untainted and unblemished, the same cannot be said for John Dramani Mahama.
He added that Ghana’s elections will be decided by the coronavirus pandemic, job creation and education and, on all these metrics, CVM is convinced that Mahama is not close to Akufo-Addo.

Trump’s One-Term Presidency Has Many Useful Lessons For John Mahama — CVM
According to John Mahama, he expects the victory of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris to be repeated in the same way in Ghana simply because:
1. He chose a woman as his running mate, just like Joe Biden.
2. It seems that every time power has changed in the United States, it has changed in Ghana as well.
John Mahama must be warned that elections and democracy in the United States never began in 1992, so there is no way Ghana can share a simultaneous fate with the United States. Mahama should instead focus on selling his record as well as his new okada and mortuary policies to Ghanaian electorates and stop the unfounded reliance on unhelpful superstitious beliefs that Biden’s victory is an automatic victory for him.
For the avoidance of doubt, there are big differences between the incompetent John Mahama and Joe Biden, as well as their respective running partners:
1. Biden had his successful 8 years as vice president, stepped back to Hillary Clinton in 2016 and returned in 2020 as the now president-elect, unlike John Mahama who had 3 years 6 months as vice president, 6 months as interim president due until the death of Prof. Mills and of course another 4 years of first term as president.
2. Biden’s wife, Mrs. Jill Biden, has solidly supported her husband in his campaign because there is a saying that behind every successful man there is a good woman. But sadly, John Mahama’s wife is nowhere to be found, distancing herself completely from Mahama’s campaign, perhaps due to the pain and misfortune caused by her husband John Mahama’s supposed killer queens.
3. Biden fully enjoyed the support of his boss Obama and wife Michelle. Unfortunately, JJ Rawlings and wife Konadu are 100% against Mahama’s candidacy. Professor Mills’s wife is even against the senseless return of the incompetent John Mahama.
4. Joe Biden’s campaign manager was everywhere campaigning unlike Professor Joshua Alabi, who gave up on Mahama’s incoherent campaigns.
5. Kamala Harris is an accomplished senator unlike Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyeman.
6. Kamala Harris was never part of the Obama / Biden administration, unlike Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyeman, who ignorantly and ill-advised Mahama to cancel assignments for teachers and nurses-in-training as the sector’s education minister.
7. This is Biden’s first attempt at the presidency unlike John Mahama, who is coming for the third time after having tried in 2012, 2016 and now 2020.
8. Joe Biden has never been president before, this is his first time as president-elect unlike John Mahama who has been interim president for 6 months due to the death of Professor Mills and again as substantive president for 4 full years. .
9. Joe Biden is more refined and cultured than John Mahama.
10. Joe Biden never uses words like Dead Goat and Baloney to respond to the American people when he was even vice president unlike John Mahama.
11. Joe Biden never described the American people as having a short memory, unlike John Mahama, who referred to the Ghanaians as having a short memory.
12. Joe Biden never got involved in an Airbus scandal as Obama’s vice president, unlike John Mahama.
13. Joe Biden was never investigated by Obama while serving as Vice President, unlike John Mahama, who was investigated by Professor Mills for corruption.
14. Joe Biden never subjected the American people to 5 years of Dumsor unlike John Mahama, who victimized and tortured Ghanaians along with his business with 5 years of Dumsor.
15. Joe Biden never took a Ford Expedition bribe from a contractor unlike John Mahama.
It is important for John Mahama to understand that he does not share the same fate with Joe Biden, nor does his running mate with Joe Biden’s running mate. John Mahama shares more character traits with Donald Trump.
Joe Biden largely won the US election due to mismanagement of COVID-19, bad foreign policies, and loose talks about Donald Trump.
However, President Akufo-Addo and the PNP government will win the 2020 general elections thanks to the excellent and prudent management of COVID-19, the restoration of decency in the seat of government and the implementation of laudable policies and programs such as , among others, to:
1. Free SHS
2. 1 Factory District 1
3. 1 Constituency 1 Ambulance
4. 1 Dam Village 1
5. Savings in the Banking / Financial Sector through the payment of money from depositors.
5. Digitization of the Ghanaian economy.
6. Reduce inflation from 15.4% in Mahama to 10.8%.
7. Reduce the Mahama policy rate from 26.4% to 14%.
8. Provision of free water to Ghanaians.
9. Provision of free electricity to Ghanaians.
10. Successfully solving the 5-year Dumsor of Mahama.
11. Construction of 4 major interchanges and asphalting 595 km of roads throughout the country.
12. Creation of 6 new Regions.
13. Bring lasting peace and development to Dagbon. For the first time, Abudus and Andani live together in peace under the rule of Akufo-Addo.
14. Construction of stadiums, renovation of existing stadiums and construction of AstroTurf fields in Ghana.
15. Completion of affordable housing units.
16. Construction of the Kumasi International Airport.
17. Construction of a new model of upper secondary schools.
18. Completion of 204 housing units in the Community Topic 22.
20. Renovation of the railway infrastructure.
21. Construction of more than 2,000 classrooms.
22. Supply of more than 10,000 hospital beds.
