The Minister of Tourism, Creative Arts and Culture, Barbara Oteng Gyasi, has advised female artists to promote the positive side of women and not to use their weaknesses against themselves.
For a few weeks now, there has been an ongoing lyrical war between some of Ghana’s female artists.
Eno Barony, Sista Afia, and Freda Rhymes have shot from all angles on who is better than the other.
However, these shots have not been without insults, body shame and personal attacks.
A movement that has received some reaction from the public.
Adding their voice to the theme, said the Minister, artists do not need to add insults to their music to promote their brands.
“It is unfortunate that perhaps in an industry that strives in the entertainment world sometimes acts outside the norm, but we must be aware of our cultural background and the fact that we are women and as women we are expected to project ourselves in a certain way. way that impacts our generation, “he said
He advised that female artists find more positive ways to promote their works and their brand and avoid jokes.
“So for our women artists, there are many ways they can project themselves positively and still have the impact they need in the industry. You don’t need to participate in all of those activities to promote your brand or product, “he said.
