The National Union of Oil Drivers of Ghana has issued a 48-hour ultimatum to President Akufo-Addo to terminate the appointment of the Executive Director of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Hassan Tampuli.

The drivers accuse Mr. Tampuli of shirking his responsibility to help solve various challenges affecting the union.

According to Union President George Nyaunu, President Akufo-Addo in 2017 established a committee to finalize numerous issues affecting his work, including service status.

However, after three years, the situation remains the same as his condition is not to die for due to non-compliance with the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by all stakeholders.

Speaking to the media on Tema, George Nyaunu says the union is demanding the approval of 86 service stations that have secured permits.

The tanker truck drivers also allege police harassment at checkpoints sanctioned by the Coordinator of the Unified Petroleum Price Fund (UPPF).
Samuel Asare Bediako.

They are also raising red flags for the failure to comply with the 2017 traffic losses and the refusal of the warehouse operators to comply with the loading temperature of 20 ° C.

Tanker truck drivers wouldn’t want to be left out in paying Covid-19 to essential or frontline workers.

The tanker drivers hope that there will be a permanent solution to these actions that have become an annual ritual.
