Two Ghanaian policemen were able to escape unscathed after coming out of a shooting even before it started in their attempt to thwart a bank robbery in a suburb of Accra.
In a report spotted by YEN.com.gh on the United Television Instagram page, it was reported that the cops were trying to thwart a bank robbery.
The thieves, learning that the police were with them, decided to use the firepower at their disposal to protect themselves from the security forces.
Therefore, they began shooting at the police in an attempt to escape with their loot.
The police, trying to open fire on the thieves as well, cocked their AK-47s only so that they would not fire due to a malfunction.
As a result, the thieves were able to seize an enormous amount of undisclosed money as the police did not arrest them due to their situation.
After the incident, it was discovered that the weapons that were assigned to the police had not been repaired in a long time and that explained their lack of retaliation during the robbery.

“I join all well-intentioned people in calling for calm and the use of dialogue to resolve the #EndSARS deadlock in Nigeria. I have spoken with President Buhari, who is committed to this end, and has initiated the processes that will lead to reform.”
