IMANI Center for Policy and Education research consultant Dennis Asare says the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government has delivered on 56.77% of the total 510 campaign pledges from the 2016 manifesto.

On Wednesday, the political think tank held an event called: IMANIfesto, to analyze the promises made in the last elections against their holding at a time when the country is preparing for another general election in December.

According to IMANI, the government led by Akufo-Addo fulfilled the promises in economic matters, governance, social service, infrastructure and investment in human capital in a period of four years added to 56.77%.

“In their 2016 manifesto, they made 510 promises and so far they have only delivered on 56.77%,” Asare said.

Last month, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia during an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen talk show, stated that his government has delivered on 80% of its 2016 campaign promises.

“80% of our promises have been fulfilled: [the projects are] 100% delivered or we are delivering. All of these projects are on the delivery tracker, ”he said on the show.

The results of the investigation by IMANI Africa and those of the PNP seem to contradict each other on the performance of the government in power in relation to its previous electoral manifesto.

IMANIfesto’s analysis concluded that “56.77% means a fairly satisfactory performance”.
