The Pentecostal and Charismatic Council of Ghana has called for calm amid continued post-election turmoil.

The council noted that they have observed developments in the political environment that borders on the nation’s peace, security and stability after the December 7 presidential elections.

In a press release signed by the Secretary General, Rev. Emmanuel Barrigah, the police service was tasked with protecting the right to peaceful demonstrations of the aggrieved parties while remaining professional in their responses to acts of indiscipline.

Along the same lines, they urged dissatisfied groups to seek legal action to address their concerns.

“We encourage the losing parties to seriously consider the constitutional option of proceeding to the supreme court with all the evidence they have gathered to seek a review of the EC decision,” the statement read.

In addition, they called on the leaders of political parties to ask their supporters throughout the country to be prudent and responsible in exercising their rights to free expression and demonstration.
