The vice presidential candidate of the Democratic National Congress (NDC), Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, says it is high time that the will of the people was brought into general governance, hence the NDC People’s Manifesto.
She hints that the days of leaders sitting in Accra and writing manifestos for the people are long gone. “We must ensure that the exact cry of the people is incorporated into political documents to ensure that the people benefit directly.”
She made this known when she made her campaign tour to Kwasiadukrom in the Bodi constituency of the North Western Region. Addressing the heads and people of the area, Professor Opoku-Agyemang said that the NDC manifesto, which has not yet been released, is a document that will address the felt needs of the people towards national development.
He noted that the ‘The Big Push’ agenda in the manifesto, for example, when implemented will ensure job creation for many people, adding that young people will receive hands-on skills training and government-initiated projects from NDC, which have been abandoned. by the current government, it will be completed.
Professor Opoku-Agyemang specifically asked women to join John and Jane’s proposal, especially since issues affecting women and children are at the top of the NDC agenda. “This is our time as women and we must seize the opportunity,” she said.
