The National Paralympic Committee has moved to assert its authority as the only accredited and recognized institution in charge of Paralympic activities in the country.

In line with this, the APN has initiated actions to restructure all the committees that organize para-sports activities in the country.

In a letter addressed to the various committees, the NPC stated that the measure is part of a plan to promote and raise Paralympic sports to world standards.

The statement that was signed by Samson Deen, the president of the APN, postulates that until further notice all committees and institutions dealing with para-sports will cease to function.

“We are writing to express our sincere appreciation to you and your Executive Board for your contribution to the development and promotion of the sport of Para-Athletics since you received your mandate in 2017.

“We inform you that the Executive Board of APN-Ghana has embarked on a restructuring program according to world standards to ensure the development and growth of its sports,” reads parts of the statement.
