The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has intercepted 152 kg of cocaine at the port of Tema in Accra.
The illicit drug was hidden in a shipment of sugar from Brazil, which was received at the port.
In a statement issued on Saturday, September 26, 2020, the NACOC stated that the interception was the result of an intelligence exchange with the Office of National Investigations (BNI) and the Secretariat of the National Security Council.
The narcotics commission revealed that laboratory tests confirmed that the substances recovered from the shipment on September 12, 2020 were indeed cocaine.
However, arrests have been made and they are currently assisting with investigations.
