The Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection will provide tomorrow, September 2, an update on Ghana’s human trafficking classifications.
Industry Minister Cynthia Morrison is expected to describe the steps that were taken to move Ghana from its level 2 human trafficking classification to its current position.
Tier 2 countries are those whose governments do not fully meet the minimum standards of the Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA) 2000, but are making significant efforts to meet those standards.
The minister will also provide information on an operational manual that he has produced on the operations of the school feeding program to provide a clearer understanding to school owners.
An additional update will also be provided on an adoption manual that has been developed by the central adoption authority to ensure that the adoption is in the best interest of the child.
