The McDan Foundation commits $ 5 million to the construction of the Sports Complex

The McDan Foundation has cut grass for the construction of a $ 5 million sports complex at Teshie in Accra.

This was unveiled during a ceremony to present the project at Teshie in Accra on Tuesday, September 15, 2020.

The Teshie Star Park was handed over to Wembley Sports Construction Co. Ltd, the company responsible for ensuring the completion of the project. The complex is expected to be completed in six (6) months.

The new Teshie Sports Complex will consist of two artificial fields, spectator stands, changing rooms, public restrooms, ceremonial sheds, floodlights and a shelter.

The multipurpose complex is expected to serve more than twenty indoor and outdoor sports disciplines in the community as one of the measures to develop the capacity of young people through sports and the provision of sports infrastructure. This would go a long way toward providing services and job opportunities to people in the community.

Mr. Daniel Mckorley, CEO and President of McDan Group expressed his joy and willingness to contribute to the development of the Teshie community.

He also expressed the opinion that the project would leave residents with a good space for sports, recreation and community participation. This would also help to uncover sports talent for the country and would also help improve the health of the city’s inhabitants.
