Ningo-Prampram MP Sam George
Ningo Prampram MP for the Democratic National Congress, Sam George, lashed out at security agencies saying they are full of “zombies.”
According to him, the Ghana Police Service in particular “urgently needs serious reforms.”
His accusations stem from alleged sexual abuse of opposition deputies on the premises of the Electoral Commission to present a petition protesting the electoral results.
In a series of posts on Facebook, the opposition deputy said:
“So why is the Akufo-Addo government so paranoid? Only 106 unarmed MPs representing your people decide to peacefully petition the Electoral Commissioner and you go and pack up all these heavily armed police and soldiers? Are you even normal? “
“Then prepare to arrest us all or shoot us, but we will not be cowed, intimidated or prevented from demanding responses from the Election Commissioner on behalf of our people.”
“For deployed security officers, remember that some of us are your parliamentarians and we act in the best interests of our collective interests. Their loyalty is NOT to the President, IGP, CDS or Ministers of the Interior, Defense or National Security. His fidelity is to the State and People of Ghana. “
“Superintendent Kwesi Ofori, regional operations commander, remember that I am your deputy. Today I would be watching your movements paaa “.
“I have always maintained that the Ghana Police Service urgently needs serious reform.”
“Too many ‘zombies’ in uniform reducing a fairly professional Police Service to a motley army of thugs”.
“Serious institutional changes and retraining of men are needed, especially for those in command positions. In fact, the head is meant to think, not just to wear helmets and say Yes Sa! ???? “
