Crime Check Foundation (CCF), a non-governmental organization that focuses on promoting crime prevention, has presented various articles to people living with HIV / AIDS in Old Ningo Prampram in the Greater Accra region.
The items are shoes, used clothing, bags of rice, boxes of cooking oil, packs of adult diapers, and a wheelchair.
Mr. Ibrahim Oppong Kwarteng, Executive Director of CCF, told the Ghana News Agency that, with the support of their donors and partners, they were presented with 40 pieces of wax prints.
He said that in addition to the articles, the Foundation also gave a quantity of GHC15,179 to be shared among them.
He said the support is part of the Foundation’s Charity Series outreach to help the poor and vulnerable in society.
“It is gradually reducing poverty in our communities with the support of individuals and organizations,” he added.
He said that government alone cannot alleviate poverty in society, hence the need for everyone to come together to support the vulnerable.
Mr. Kwarteng said the support was the result of a request from the executives of people living with HIV / AIDS in the community to help members.
The Executive Director encouraged members to stay strong, keep taking their medications, and eat nutritious meals to stay healthy.
He took the opportunity to educate members about the dangers of the new Coronavirus as they have underlying conditions.
He urged them to stay home if they have nothing to do and always remember to wear their mask.
“We will continue to provide support in our own little way to people living with HIV / AIDS in the community,” he added.
Ms. Vivian Dwira, Deputy Director of the Ningo Prampram Nursing Service, congratulated the Foundation’s management and donors for supporting these individuals.
“We appreciate your gesture in providing for these people and we hope that the Foundation continues to extend its support,” he added.
He said it was the first time an organization had supported members.
The organization made a similar donation of GHC18,500 to Mangoase residents in the Central Region.
