The First Lady warns her supporters against voter apathy

First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo warned PNP supporters in the Anyaa Sowutuom constituency in the Greater Accra region against complacency and apathy from voters.

Speaking to market women in Chantan and Anyaa, during a durbar, she stated that the PNP has worked hard for the people and therefore hopes that the people will retain the government.

“President Akufo-Addo continues to work to fulfill all his promises to the people of Ghana, through numerous policies of social intervention.”

“He has implemented, including Free SHS, 1 Constituency 1 Ambulance, 1D1F and strengthening NHIS, all of which have greatly benefited women and deserve another four years to work for the women of Ghana,” said the First Lady .

He begged them to come out en masse on December 7, to return the nuclear power plant, to power to continue the good work.

At the durbar held in her honor by the traditional leaders of the constituency, the First Lady described some initiatives she has undertaken to complement the government’s effort to improve the lives of women and children.

He indicated that through the Rebecca Foundation, a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and a Maternal and Child Care Unit have been built at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, respectively.

Ms. Akufo-Addo added that her Foundation, through its Learning to Read, Read to Learn initiative, is setting up libraries across the country.

It revealed that it has also partnered with the National Board of Small-Scale Industries (NBSSI) through its “Because I want to be” initiative to train girls and mothers to acquire skills to improve their livelihoods.

The First Lady stated that her Rebecca Foundation will continue to assist in the empowerment of women and children.

At the Anyaa Sowutuom Municipal Clinic, the First Lady presented some medical items, such as blankets, thermometers, sheets, nasal masks, and disinfectants to the health center to help them carry out their duties.

He also congratulated health personnel for standing firm in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic.

She was accompanied by Anyaa Sowutuom’s MCE, Dr. Emmanuel Lamptey, the PNP parliamentary candidate for Anyaa Sowutuom, Dr. Adomako Kissi, and the regional and district executives.
