The NCCE Anloga District Directorate has organized a social auditing program in Genui, an island community in the Anloga District.
This is part of the Commission’s efforts to involve citizens in the need to initiate, nurture, participate, appropriate and take charge of the development of their communities.
Addressing the meeting, NCCE Anloga District Director, Mr. Godwin K. Agbenyo, asked the citizens of Genui to make the unit their hallmark and, in that unit, take charge of the development of their community , which is your civic responsibility.
He added that development can only take place in an atmosphere of peace, unity, harmony, fairness, responsibility, honesty and transparency.
Mr. Agbenyo, in his presentation, said: The Social Audit is one of NCCE’s flagship programs that aims to empower citizens to participate meaningfully and enthusiastically in the development of their community and is currently under the sponsorship the EU and helps eliminate rumors.
The program was attended by traditional authorities, traditionalists, youth, women’s groups, people with disabilities, members of the unity committee, members of the assembly and members of the local council of churches and members of the community in general.
The nine (9) member Social Audit Implementation Committee was formed and duly inaugurated to oversee the implementation of the listed community challenges, including the provision of potable water and the extension of electricity to other parts of the community, among others.
Earlier, in his welcoming address, Whuti-Srogbe Hon. Joseph Kwaku Ali Election Area Assembly member thanked the NCCE for choosing a community in his Election Area and urged the Commission not to hesitate to bring more such programs. to your area.
Torgbi Age III Regent Dufia de Genui, who chaired the program, encourages young people to own the development of Genui and urges them to stay away from hard drugs if they are to have a bright future.
