Black Stars head coach Charles Kwablan Akonnor has stated that his team lacked organization, leading to their loss to Mali last Friday.
Black Stars suffered a 3-0 loss to the Eagles in Akonnor’s first game since taking over the team in January.
After the friendly meeting, Akonnor gave an interview to Adom TV and cited the organization as the main problem on the side.
“The players did not know each other because most of them were newcomers. It is also the first time they play together, we trained only two days and there was also a lack of understanding, “he said.
“I don’t blame the players, but the key was that the team was not organized. Mali didn’t play anything extraordinary but it was organized; that gave them victory. “
Akonnor will be on the bench on Monday when the Black Stars play their second friendly against Asian champions Qatar.
The friendly matches are part of the preparation for next month’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sudan.
