Swansea City manager Steve Cooper has said his team is happy to have star man Andre Ayew in shape and playing again.
During the last international break, the Ghanaian forward was injured while on duty with the Black Stars for games against Sudan.
Upon his return to Swansea City, Andre Ayew missed a match against Rotherham before coming off the bench mid-week to score for the team in a 1-1 draw against Sheffield Wednesday.
Speaking about the return of the striker, coach Steve Cooper says his team is grateful to have Ayew back.
“It was brilliant and we needed it [Ayew] tonight. We have drawn a game at home and we are frustrated that we did not get all three points.
“But, on the grounds that we didn’t play well the first half, and we were playing against a team that showed good endurance, we needed someone like Andre to get back into the game,” said the coach after the Sheffield Wednesday draw.
Coach Steve Cooper continued: “He gave us that and we are grateful to have him back on the field.
“He couldn’t have started, but he insisted that he felt he could play a role. He is experienced and knows his body.
“The medical team did a great job with him, we had a joint approach and we hope he’s ready.”
With Swansea City set to play Nottingham Forest this weekend, Andre Ayew is in line for a starting role.
