Boca Juniors captain Carlos Tevez has said that he cries during games as he struggles to cope with his father’s deteriorating health.
Tevez’s father, Raimundo Tevez, spent 45 days in intensive care at a private Buenos Aires hospital battling the coronavirus before being discharged on September 4.

Raimundo, who is diabetic, returned to the hospital a few weeks ago after his health deteriorated.

“It’s very difficult,” Tevez told ESPN Argentina after his team’s 1-0 home loss to Talleres on Sunday.
“I have different emotions. Sometimes I am fine and other times I will cry during the break. I can not explain it.
“These are difficult times. I am going to visit my father and then I have to be strong to play football.”
A banner of Boca fans was visible in the empty stands of the Bombonera stadium in Sunday’s game in support of Tevez and his family.

Tevez’s biological father was murdered before he was born.
The former Manchester United and Manchester City striker was raised by Raimundo and his wife, Adriana Martínez, Tevez’s aunt.
Tevez returned to Boca in January 2018 for his third stint at the club.
