The case of those accused of murdering the four missing Takoradi girls who were later confirmed dead has been postponed until Monday, October 5, 2020 by the Sekondi Takoradi High Court.

The case was postponed on Monday, September 7, following the quarantine of one of the defendant’s two defense attorneys, Mark Bosia.

Bosia, who is John Orji’s legal advisor, was quarantined following a COVID-19 case at the Legal Aid Office in the Western Region.

The presiding judge, Judge Richard Adjei-Frimpong, who adjourned the case, explained that: “This morning I received information from Legal Aid that someone had tested positive for COVID-19 in their office and therefore the staff had to be quarantined ”.

Judge Adjei-Frimpong went on to say: “Since the legal aid has given us the lawyer to represent A2 in the person of the lawyer Mark Bosia, I asked them to officially write down what they had done. So, ladies and gentlemen, we have to postpone the case. In fact, we had a program to continue taking witness statements from today, Monday, September 7, until Wednesday, September 9, 2020 ”.

John Orji and Sam Udoetuk Wills have been charged with murder and conspiracy to murder.

So far, the court has heard 6 of the 31 witness accounts.

The missing girls who were abducted in July 2018 were Priscilla Bentum, Ruth Love Quayson, Priscilla Mantebea Kuranchie and Ruth Abakah.

They were later confirmed dead in August 2019 by the police.
