Swansea City manager Steve Cooper has praised Andre Ayew and Jamal Lowe when they placed second in the championship with a magnificent 2-0 victory at Queen Park Rangers.
Ayew’s goal in the 44th minute opened the scoring for the visitors before Jamal Lowe added a second goal after half time to secure three points at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium in London.
Matchday 21’s win has pushed Swansea to second place in the league standings, just behind Norwich City.
“They’re the guys who play up front and they’ve played well all season,” Cooper said of their scoring duo.
“But, in that position, you will always be judged by the goals and the helps you receive, which is fair enough.”
“They’re scoring, Andre told me he had a goal, while Jamal has scored some recently.
“They know the responsibility they have and hopefully they will be able to maintain it.”
“For Jamal it was important to score in consecutive games, it was a brilliant goal and that’s what Jamal does, coming in from behind and getting into the goalkeeper.”
“It made it look easier than it was with the defender covering and him running at full speed.”
“It was a great pass from Matt Grimes too.”
Ayew, who has also scored two goals for Ghana this season, raised his club and country tally to double digits in the match.
