“SWAG recognizes the athletic team’s performances and salutes their great feat.”
Black Bombers, Samuel Takyi (featherweight), Sulemanu Tetteh (flyweight) and Shakul Samed (light heavyweight) have also qualified for the Olympics despite numerous challenges before and during the playoffs.
The Black Bombers have proven it, they are Ghana’s pioneers in multisport events, as records show they have won three of the four medals Ghana won at the Olympics.
“SWAG is delighted with the enviable feats of these brave young men.”
The Black Stars senior soccer team, on the other hand, showed a brave performance to celebrate South Africa’s Bafana Bafana to qualify for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations soccer tournament in Cameroon.
“When many thought it was Herculean and insurmountable, the Black Stars took South Africa, turning the last tie into a mere formality.”
SWAG is confident that his approach will lead to breaking the AFCON trophy drought.
SWAG is convinced that these teams will follow in the footsteps of their predecessors if given the necessary resources and opportunities to train properly for their respective competitions.
As a nation, we have a perfect opportunity to improve our boxing records at the Games, but this can only be ensured by proper preparation in the right competitive training environment.
Therefore, we urge the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) to provide teams with the necessary resources to prepare and comply at the Olympic Games and AFCON.
Corporate Ghana is also encouraged to support the teams as they set out to make Ghana proud.
