Media personality Bridget Otoo has endorsed TV3 host Alfred Ocansey after airing inaccurate information during the recently concluded presidential and parliamentary elections.
Alfred Ocansey during a live show on Election Day, screened 149 wins for the parliamentary seat for the New Patriotic Party (PNP) and 126 for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Since then, the presenter has been the target of a series of attacks, as NDC supporters have questioned the credibility of these results before going on the air to do the screening.
But, reacting to the incident, Bridget Otoo, who is also a former TV3 employee, pleaded with the Ghanaians not to attack Alfred Ocansey for the crime.
According to the freelance journalist, she feels so bad for Alfred, who is being targeted when, in the real sense, he just hosted the show and had no idea where those figures came from. She said the figures the host mentioned on the air were given to her by a producer who also obtained them from an unreliable source.
“…. And I feel so bad for someone like Alfred. Guys, please stop attacking Alfred. Alfred is the right guy who hosted the show. That figure you mentioned was given to you by a producer who probably also got it from someone … “, he said in parts of a video on Twitter scolding TV3 to do better.
She, however, recommended to TV3 to stop being in a rush to save them from such embarrassments in the future.

Meanwhile, the General Media Department has recorded the controversial projections of TV3.
Management, in a statement, said its projected results declared by its presenters in the December 7 election were not made to favor a particular political party.
He said they did so based on the figures available to them at the time and that it was subject to further change as more and new figures were received.
