Dancehall artist Charles Nii Armah Mensah, known in show business as Shatta Wale, revealed that his colleague Stonebwoy stopped taking his phone calls after the Asaase Radio Sound Clash competition.
The competition saw the two main artists go head-to-head, culminating in an event in which the two battled lyrically.
A voting system was also instituted to assess which of the two artists had the largest fan base. The tallest voter, who was a fan of Shatta Wale, walked away with a car award, but between the two dancehall artists the contest came to a controversial end and both sides claimed victory.
The organizers eventually declared both parties winners, but the controversy continued.
In an interview with Kumawood actor Kwaku Manu, the multi award winner revealed that his relationship with Stonebwoy has not been the same since.
“After the crash when I call him, he doesn’t pick up and I have realized that in life there are people who like meat and I really like those people,” he said.
“Stonebwoy knows my contact numbers and knows the particular number I am calling him with, but he still doesn’t answer when I call him,” he added.
But Shatta Wale says he has no problem with Stonebwoy.
According to him, his counterpart wanted to win the sound clash, because he didn’t, he has decided to be cold to him.
Narrating experiences that have led to the fight between them, he revealed that Stonebwoy did not recognize him during an interview they had on ETV where he was asked about the people who had contributed to his success. He said that Stonebwoy did not respect him.
