A career partner of the standard-bearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has urged the electorate to be attentive to the vain campaign promises of politicians.
Addressing hundreds of residents of the Western Region mining town of Prestea on Tuesday, he said: “Don’t let anyone fool you with sweet promises.
Professor Opoku-Agyemang, instead, asked the electorate to verify the parties’ record on what was promised.
According to her, the NDC would continue to be honest with Ghanaians, adding that the party’s manifesto represents what the people want.
“We are not like others who do not keep their sweet promises. You know that when we promise, we deliver, ”he said.
Calling for the mandate of the people to allow the NDC to return to power to rejuvenate national development, the Running Mate noted that the NDC remains the most credible part in leading the country towards sustainable progress.
Professor Opoku-Agyemang previously visited Prestea Hemang’s boss, Nana Nteboa Pra IV, where she explained the various sections of the party’s manifesto related to socio-economic activities in the area, including small-scale mining.
In seeking to equip youth with the necessary technical skills in mining, he said the NDC government would prioritize technical education in mining areas to support youth.
In addition, he said that the NDC government would facilitate the establishment of gold refineries in mining areas to ensure that small-scale miners benefit more from their mining activities.
“He’s been misled for a long time because he doesn’t have refineries here to trade his minerals in a more profitable way,” he said.
