StanChart congratulates front-line workers on sacrifice

Ms. Mansa Nettey, executive director of StandChart, said the workers, in the wake of COVID-19, sacrificed themselves to save the lives of patients.

“As Ghana has been involved in a total fight against COVID-19 for the past few weeks, we have learned one thing from our front-line workers: that they have a great heart for people, they care, they commit and they give,” he said. he said in a statement.

The statement added that on the occasion of the May Day 2020 celebrations, unlike any other year, the world faced a global public health crisis.

He noted that the Day was being marked in the context of a pandemic that threatened the physical, psychological, social and economic well-being of Ghana and its workers.

“However, at the forefront of the fight against the virus are our front-line healthcare and our essential workers who have served the nation earnestly and remarkably so that we can have a great opportunity to win this battle.”

“In commemorating Workers’ Day 2020, at StandChart we wish to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to all health workers in the public and private sectors for their sacrifice, zeal and commitment in the fight against this pandemic.”

“We recognize their efforts and that is why, in keeping with our ‘Here For Good’ brand promise, we are taking action by donating Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to front-line health workers at select hospitals throughout the country”.

“To all essential workers, including our valued front-line banking staff, grocery store and grocery store managers, food vendors, and fuel station managers, we say well done. They have played a vital role in maintaining the country in operation. ”

The statement also praised all workers in the security agencies who had helped maintain peace, order and security while managing and controlling the spread of the deadly virus.

He recognized the workers who had continued to perform their daily tasks while working from home, saying; “Their commitment to their work is why many companies will continue to prosper and meet their obligations despite these difficult times.”

In solidarity with citizens, StandChart extended its warmest regards and compliments to all Ghanaian workers, whose work and sweat continued to keep the economy moving forward.
